SELF stands for Skills for Employment, Life and Family, and that's what is most important to us. We strive to build a literate community, one person at a time.

We offer literacy and numeracy training to English-speaking learners in a small group or one-on-one environment that is focused on practical skills and everyday tasks. SELF coordinators work with learners to identify their literacy goals and then assess the applicable literacy areas. By working with learners collaboratively, we ensure that the specific needs of each learner are the focus of their personal program. Each learner is then matched with a tutor or instructor that works to tailor a program that will achieve each learner's specific goals. Our small group instructors, tutors and coordinators proactively reassess and revise learner training on an ongoing basis. With complete reassessments every 6 months, we ensure progress is being made and the appropriate skill areas are being targeted.
